A workshop on illustration and the cultural significance and importance of flea markets, including a participatory art exercise in which the attendees create their own flea market booth. Participants: K-7th graders, multicultural children and their parents.

Cinco de Mayo Workshops

Creation of Educational Video "Mi Cinco de Mayo" on the significance of the holiday in my life as an artist and activist. June 2002. Community workshops on the cultural significance of Cinco de Mayo and community response to the holiday's appropriation by beer companies. Participants: Youth, community leaders, professionals, monolingual community members.

  • Statewide and nationwide workshops with community members of all ages, 2000-2003.
  • Distribution of "Mi Cinco de Mayo" Video to community members throughout the state of California and the Southwest, 2002-2004.

Spirituality Workshops & Ceremonies

Created and conducted workshops that set a spiritual tone for community trainings and retreats. Participants: youth, monolingual community members and leaders of all ages.
